Application Guidelines

  1. Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, oil, frost and other contaminants.
  2. Application: Apply M-1® as a smooth, continuous bead using a professional-grade caulking gun.
  3. Tooling: Tool the sealant within 15 minutes to achieve proper attachment and a smooth, uniform finish.
  4. Curing: Full cure is typically reached within 24 hours, depending on temperature, humidity and bead depth. Protect the sealant from movement and debris until cured.
  5. Primer: M-1® generally does not require a primer; however, certain substrates or applications may require one to achieve a long-lasting bond.

Compatibility

TPO roofing membranes require Chem Link LOW-VOC EPDM/TPO Primer (F1280 LVOC). Adhesion testing should be performed on EPDM roofs before installation.

* Adhesion tests are required for EPDM applications and recommended for substrates to ensure adequate adhesion.
